The pain is caused by stimulation of nerve endings. When the nerve endings are stimulated, sodium enters nerve, so that an electrical signal that accumulates in the nerve cells. Once the electrical signal is big enough, can travel into the brain interprets as pain.

Benzocaine acts as a chemical barrier, stopping the sodium in the nerve ending.

Cleaning the skin is benzoyl peroxide.

Benzocaine anesthesia is injected into an amide (as opposed to an ester anesthetic contrast).

It works like other anesthetics in blocking the "pump protons in the nerve canal.

Benzocaine better on the surface of the dry cloth, so that your gums are numb, but no teeth. It is stunning especially on the gums before the injection to be used with a needle.
